School security services

Entrance and visitor management

A single controlled entrance during the school day: visitor verification and ID, badges, vendor and parent check-in, delivery handling, and a professional presence that reassures parents and deters anyone who should not be there.

Arrival and dismissal

Carline and traffic management, verified pickups, perimeter watch during the most vulnerable minutes of the day, coordination with staff and crossing guards.

Campus patrols

Roving officers checking doors, gates, playgrounds, fields, parking lots and perimeter fencing; response to alarms and staff calls.

Armed and unarmed officers

Armed Class G officers at the main entrance where the school chooses; unarmed Class D officers for dismissal, patrols and events. Officers are trained on the school’s emergency plan — lockdown, evacuation, reunification — and drill with staff.

Events and athletics

Graduations, performances, fundraisers, athletic events, dances, camps and overnight events — event security with crowd management and parking.

After-hours and weekend coverage

Overnight patrols against vandalism and theft of technology; weekend coverage for religious services and community events on campus.

Threat assessment support and investigations

Support to administrators on concerning behavior, harassment and threats, custody-related pickup disputes and internal theft, with licensed investigators when needed.

Staff protection

Officers during difficult parent meetings, terminations and restraining-order situations.

How we set up school security

  1. Campus assessment with the head of school and administration: entrances, schedule, dismissal flow, events calendar, emergency plan, current concerns.
  2. Program and post orders — posts and hours, visitor procedure, dismissal procedure, emergency roles, communication with staff and police.
  3. Officer selection — officers screened for temperament with children, trained on the school’s child-protection and emergency policies; fixed roster so students and parents know them.
  4. Operations — supervisor visits, daily reports, incident reports, participation in drills, review each semester.

Why schools choose FSO Guard

  • Clear roles — we complement, and do not replace, school district police, the Guardian program and the school’s own staff.
  • English, Spanish and Russian speaking officers for international school communities.
  • One provider for daily posts, events, after-hours patrols and investigations.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do private schools in Florida have to have security?

Florida law requires every public school to have a safe-school officer; private schools set their own security programs, but parents, insurers and accreditation bodies increasingly expect a visible, trained presence. Many private and religious schools in South Florida contract licensed security officers for entrances, dismissal and events.

Are your school officers armed?

That is the school's decision. We provide unarmed Class D officers and armed Class G officers; many schools use an armed officer at the main entrance and unarmed officers for dismissal and campus patrol. Our officers do not replace Florida's Guardian program or school district police — they complement them.

How are officers screened for work with children?

All officers hold a Florida license, which requires a state and federal background check. For school assignments we add reference checks, interviews focused on temperament with children and families, and training on the school's child-protection policies.

Can you cover dismissal and carline?

Yes. Dismissal is the most chaotic and vulnerable part of the day: officers manage the carline, verify pickups, keep traffic moving and watch the perimeter.

Do you provide security for school events and sports?

Yes. Graduations, performances, fundraisers, athletics, dances and overnight events, with crowd management and parking coverage.
