The legal line: what we will and will not do
Florida law (Statute 934.425) makes it a third-degree felony to install a tracking device on another person’s property, or to use one to determine another person’s location, without consent, and treats consent between spouses as revoked once a divorce petition or protective injunction is filed. In practice this means:
- We will track vehicles titled to you or your company, jointly owned vehicles, and equipment you own.
- We will set up employer programs with written driver notice.
- We will not place a tracker on a vehicle owned solely by a spouse, partner, employee or anyone else without lawful authority, even if you ask nicely.
- We will offer a lawful alternative: licensed physical surveillance that documents the same facts admissibly.
This protects you as much as us. Evidence gathered illegally is inadmissible and can expose the client to criminal and civil liability.
