An asset search helps clarify what the available records show about a person or company. It can support a dispute, judgment review or business decision. It also reveals where records are incomplete and further legal process may be needed.
FSO Guard’s licensed investigators conduct asset searches in Miami and throughout Florida. We trace ownership indicators through lawful sources and report the evidence behind each finding.
What an asset search finds
- Real estate. Research can cover ownership, purchase history, mortgages, liens and transfers. We assess links to companies or other parties without assuming a link proves ownership.
- Vehicles, vessels and aircraft. We review records that may lawfully be accessed for the documented purpose.
- Business interests. Filings can show company roles, related entities and changes over time. A registered-agent listing alone does not establish ownership.
- Debts and filings. Judgments, liens, bankruptcies and secured-interest records help explain the apparent financial picture.
- Account indicators. Court files and other lawful records may point to a financial institution. Your attorney determines whether further records can be sought through legal process.
- Field observations. Lawful observation may help verify use of a property, vehicle or vessel. Reports distinguish use from documented ownership.

When you need one
- Before a claim. Findings can help counsel assess whether further action is practical.
- After judgment. Research identifies leads for counsel to evaluate for lawful enforcement.
- Family matters. Records research can assist counsel in reviewing disputed disclosures or property transfers.
- Business decisions. Review available ownership and financial indicators before a transaction. Explore corporate investigations and due diligence for broader checks.
- Estates. Search for records of a deceased person’s property or transfers relevant to the estate.
- Suspected fraud. Asset tracing can support fraud investigations by examining available records of where property or funds moved.
How we work — and what we will not do
Each search starts with a written agreement and a lawful purpose. Sources include public records, court files and authorized databases. We do not access bank or brokerage accounts or use deceptive methods to obtain protected information.
A search cannot promise access to private balances or complete ownership information. Read what a private investigator can and cannot do for the limits of investigative work.
The report
The report groups findings by asset type. It includes sources, record copies and a transfer timeline where relevant. Possible connections and unresolved questions are clearly marked for counsel’s review.
Counsel decides how to use the findings in a legal matter. Investigators can testify about the research and observations when required.
