Security Patrol Services in Miami: Mobile Patrol, On-Site Patrol Officers and Alarm Response

Two ways to patrol a property, one licensed team. Mobile patrol: a marked vehicle and a licensed officer visiting your property several times a night at unpredictable times, checking doors, gates and grounds and reporting with photos. On-site patrol: an officer stationed at the property for the shift, walking or riding GPS-verified rounds, responding to alarms and escorting staff. FSO Guard runs both across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, and helps you choose the right one for the property and the budget.

Not every property needs an officer standing on it all night, but every property benefits from someone checking it when nobody expects them to. FSO Guard’s security patrol services in Miami and South Florida come in two forms. Mobile patrol: a marked patrol vehicle and a licensed officer visiting your property on a randomized schedule, checking doors and gates, walking the grounds, responding to alarms, moving loiterers along and sending you a report with photos after every visit. On-site patrol: a licensed officer stationed at the property for the shift, walking or riding GPS-verified rounds, escorting staff and responding to what they find within minutes. We are a Florida-licensed security agency (license B3100530) headquartered in Hollywood between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and most patrol programs start within a few days of the first call.

Mobile patrol services

Randomized property checks

Scheduled visits at unpredictable times so patterns cannot be learned. Each visit follows a checklist written for your property: perimeter, doors, windows, gates, lighting, parking, pool and amenity areas, dumpsters and loading docks.

Alarm response

When your alarm company calls, a patrol officer responds, checks the premises, coordinates with police if needed and secures the site. See also emergency and same-day security.

Openings, closings and lock-ups

Officers open or lock facilities at set times, escort closing staff to their cars and confirm that gates, pool areas and amenity rooms are secured.

Parking enforcement and vehicle checks

Permit checks, towing coordination, abandoned vehicle reporting and patrol of garages and lots in residential communities and commercial plazas.

Vacant property and construction site checks

Regular checks of vacant homes, storefronts and construction sites for trespass, squatters, theft and storm damage, with photo documentation for owners and insurers.

Hurricane season support

Pre-storm checks and post-storm damage assessments while owners are away, with photos for insurance claims.

On-site security patrol officers

Foot patrol

Officers walking randomized rounds: the most visible deterrent and the best way to notice doors propped open, lights out and people who do not belong.

Bicycle, golf cart and vehicle patrol on site

For large communities, resorts and campuses where a foot round would take too long to cover the property.

Fixed post plus roving officer

Gatehouse or lobby coverage combined with rounds: the standard for communities and condominiums. See HOA and gated community security and concierge security.

Parking structures and escorts

Level-by-level rounds against break-ins and loitering, permit checks and escorts for staff and residents to their vehicles at night.

Alarm and camera response on site

Patrol officers respond to alarms and camera alerts within minutes instead of waiting for an outside responder.

Armed patrol

Class G licensed armed officers for high-value or high-risk properties such as dispensaries, dealerships and warehouses.

How patrol rounds are verified

A marked patrol vehicle, a spotlight and a foot check of every door: the visit is logged with GPS and time stamps.
  1. We place checkpoints at the points that matter: gates, stairwells, pool, dock, loading area, dark corners.
  2. Officers scan each checkpoint on every round; rounds and mobile visits are randomized so patterns cannot be learned.
  3. GPS records the officer’s or vehicle’s path and timing.
  4. You receive a report after every visit or shift with rounds, photos, maintenance issues and incidents, and an immediate call for anything serious.
  5. Supervisors audit logs and visit posts unannounced.

Why patrol works

Deterrence

A marked vehicle arriving at random times, or an officer who appears around the corner, is exactly what opportunistic thieves and trespassers do not want to see.

Cost

Several mobile visits a night cost a fraction of a full-shift stationed officer; an on-site roving officer covers a large property that would otherwise need several fixed posts.

Documentation

Time-stamped photo reports after each visit and GPS-verified rounds, useful for boards, insurers and property owners.

Response

A trained officer on the way when an alarm goes off, not just a phone call; on site, a response within minutes.

Flexibility

Increase visits after an incident, add static coverage for a week, scale back when things calm down, combine with stationed unarmed officers at peak hours.

Judgment

Officers chosen for judgment: they de-escalate, report and call the right people, in English, Spanish or Russian.

How a patrol program is set up

  1. Site visit. We walk the property with you and note entry points, problem areas, lighting and what a check or a round should include.
  2. Patrol plan. Mobile, on-site or both; number of visits or shifts, time windows, checklist, checkpoints, alarm-response procedure and reporting contacts, in writing, with a monthly price.
  3. Patrols begin. Officers in marked vehicles or on foot, in uniform, following the checklist and photographing what they see.
  4. Reports and review. Reports after every visit or shift, incident calls immediately, and a monthly summary so you can adjust coverage.

Licensed officers, real supervision

Patrol officers hold the Florida Class D security license; armed patrol officers add the Class G firearms license. FSO Guard is a licensed Florida security agency (license B3100530) and carries the required insurance. Our supervisors audit patrol logs, checkpoints and vehicle routes, so the visits you pay for are the visits you get. Learn what the licenses mean in our guide to Florida security license classes.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between mobile patrol and on-site security patrol?

Mobile patrol means a marked patrol vehicle visits your property several times a night for short, randomized checks and then moves to the next site; it suits properties that need a deterrent and documented checks but not a constant presence. On-site patrol means a licensed officer is stationed at your property for the whole shift and walks or rides rounds inside it, scanning GPS checkpoints; it suits large or busy properties such as communities, parking structures, campuses and hotels. Many clients combine them: an on-site officer during peak hours and mobile visits overnight.

How many patrol visits does a property need per night?

Most commercial and residential clients choose two to six randomized visits per night, more during high-risk hours or after an incident. Construction sites, vacant properties and communities with recent break-ins often add a stationed overnight officer for a few weeks and scale back to mobile visits when things calm down. We recommend a number after a site visit and adjust it from the monthly report.

How do I know the patrols actually happened?

Every mobile visit is logged with GPS location, time stamps and photos of the doors, gates and areas on your checklist, and you receive the report by email or through our reporting app after each visit. On-site officers scan checkpoints placed at the points that matter, GPS records their path and timing, and supervisors audit the logs and visit posts unannounced. If a round is missing from the log, you will see it before we do.

Do you respond to alarms and camera alerts?

Yes. For monitored properties, our patrol officer responds when your alarm company or camera monitoring center calls: checks the premises, coordinates with police if needed, secures the site and sends you a report with photos, so your manager does not have to drive out at 3 a.m. Alarm response is priced per call or included in a patrol package; on-site officers respond within minutes because they are already there.

How much do security patrol services cost in Miami?

Mobile patrols are priced per visit or as a monthly package based on the number of visits, the property size and the checklist; a nightly program usually costs a small fraction of a stationed officer. On-site patrol officers are billed per officer-hour under a monthly schedule, with vehicles or golf carts quoted separately when we provide them; long-term agreements cost less per hour than temporary coverage. We do not publish rates because properties differ; send the address, the hours and what you want checked and you will have a written quote the same day. See our guide to security guard costs in Miami for what moves the price.
