Place of worship security services

Service coverage

Service posts cover entrances and selected interior areas. Officers are briefed on the schedule and their role so their presence does not distract from worship.

High Holidays and holiday services

High-attendance holidays may need extra entry and parking posts. The plan sets an appropriate screening process and any coordination with local police.

Entrance and parking control

Door officers combine a courteous greeting with careful observation. Parking patrols cover arrivals and departures. Escorts can assist older congregants where needed.

Religious schools and camps

Schools on campus may need daily entrance and dismissal coverage. Explore school security.

Events, weddings and funerals

For ceremonies, concerts, community meals and private celebrations, explore wedding and private event security.

Security plan and volunteer team support

A campus review turns concerns into written procedures. The plan defines volunteer roles, emergency contacts and communication with staff.

After-hours patrols

Mobile patrol checks the campus after closing for signs of damage or unauthorized entry.

Threat response

Additional coverage can be arranged after a threat or heightened alert. Licensed investigators can help document the concern for law enforcement.

How we work with a congregation

  1. Listen first. Meet privately with clergy, leaders or the security committee to understand the community and current concerns.
  2. Review the site. Walk entrances, worship spaces, classrooms and parking. Assess current volunteer duties and camera coverage.
  3. Agree on the plan. Set officer roles, hours and event coverage with an itemized price. Documentation for grant applications is available where needed.
  4. Maintain consistency. Regular officers learn the congregation’s routines. Supervisors review reports and revisit coverage before major holidays.

Why congregations choose FSO Guard

  • Licensed Florida security agency (Class B), Class D and Class G officers, insurance as required by the state; certificates of insurance for the congregation and its insurer on request.
  • Language and community awareness. Officers work in English, Spanish and Russian and are briefed on the congregation’s practices.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Should a church or synagogue have armed security?

Many congregations in South Florida now do, especially for services with large attendance, High Holidays, Christmas and Easter, and where there have been threats or incidents. The decision belongs to the leadership; we provide both armed Class G and unarmed Class D officers and help you think through the trade-offs for your congregation.

Can officers be discreet during worship?

Yes. Officers dress to blend with the congregation (suits or the attire you prefer), position themselves where they can see without being the focus, and are briefed on the order of service so they never interrupt.

Do you cover synagogues for Shabbat and the High Holidays?

Yes. Shabbat coverage, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Passover and community events for synagogues in Aventura, Sunny Isles, Hallandale, Hollywood, Miami Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour and Boca Raton, with officers who understand the community's expectations and Russian- and Hebrew-speaking congregants.

Do you help with a security plan and the volunteer team?

Yes. We assess the campus, help leadership write a practical security plan (entrances, greeters and ushers, parking, emergency response, communications) and support the volunteer safety team with clear roles; officers work alongside volunteers, not instead of them.

Is there grant funding for house of worship security?

Federal and state nonprofit security grant programs have funded security for houses of worship in Florida in recent years. We can provide the quotes and scope documentation congregations typically need for applications; eligibility and deadlines are set by the programs.
